Sunset Books – A Bright New Chapter
Sunset Books, a charming local bookstore nestled in the heart of Strand, Cape Town, opened its doors in 2023. The brainchild of a passionate book lover who yearned to escape the corporate grind, this bookstore is a testament to the power of dreams.
Every morning, this dreamer would jog along the Strand beachfront, envisioning a space where book lovers could find solace and inspiration. With a vision as clear as the ocean, she approached Jane Doe Designs, a quirky design studio that perfectly captured her unique vision. Despite the stark contrast between the dreamer’s spring-like energy and the designer’s gothic aesthetic, a beautiful partnership was forged.
1. A Fresh Look
To symbolize the bookstore’s tranquil location and its passion for storytelling, a captivating logo was designed. The logo features a sun that not only represents the setting sun but also the pages of a book, seamlessly blending the physical and literary worlds. The sun also evokes the serene ocean views that inspire many readers.
2. A Digital Transformation
To reach a wider audience, we designed a user-friendly website that showcases their quint location, collection of books and invites viewers to enjoy a cup of coffee, tea and cake. We also set up their social media platforms, allowing them to connect with customers and share book recommendations, author events, and special promotions.
